This is an indigenous grape from the slopes of Etna that for centuries has been cultivated in the County of Mascali (which gives it its name) on volcanic soils. The story of the label derives from the Italian epic poem “Orlando Furioso”.

It depicts Orlando becoming overwhelmed with pain after finding his and his lost love Angelas` name carved in a tree. The wine is spontaneously fermented with natural yeasts allowing the grapes to express their true character. An enticing nose full of ripe red fruits and violets with a generous and elegant palate full of rustic earthy notes, rich fruit and dried spices. The finish is savoury and long.
