Some black pepper with crushed stone. Black berries, black cherries, and bark. Medium-bodied with lovely fruit and balance, and a gorgeous finish of peaches and tangerines. Fantastic. Drinkable but will age beautifully.

One of many excellent châteaux in the Neipperg stable, Clos de L’Oratoire is an acclaimed Saint- Émilion estate that has continued to create distinctive wines. Its 13-hectare vineyard is planted with Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%) and benefits from two unique terroirs: clay, limestone and Fronsac molasse on the hillsides, and clayey-sand on the bottom of the slopes. This Merlot dominant vineyard benefits from the slightly cooler microclimate of Saint- Émilion. Like all the other estates in Neipperg’s portfolio, Oratoire practices sustainable and biodynamic viticulture; avoiding herbicides, pesticides or insecticides. The final blend is aged in 80% new French oak barrels for 14-18 months. The end result is a rounded, opulent wine, that is full of powerful fruit aromas.
