This very fine and great estate transitions between Gruaud-Larose, the Léoville hinterland and the Crus Classés of Saint-Laurent-du-Médoc, on terroirs of the first order. Displaying a beautiful red colour and complex nose, this vintage is among the most indulgent, with an aromatic palette dominated by dark fruits and spices… The abundantly fresh and rounded palate follows on to a beautiful, long and elegant finish. This easy-to-drink and well-balanced second wine is still considered a standard-setter in Bordeaux!

The history of Château Lagrange began with M. Jean Valère Cabarrus, who bought the estate in 1796 and extended it before selling it in 1825. The estate then went through difficult times (war, wine crises and economic recession) and numerous owners came and went. Since its purchase in 1983 by the Japanese Suntory Group and management by Marcel Ducasse, the priority has been on restoring the value of the vineyard and modernising the winemaking facilities. All this has contributed to making Château Lagrange one of the top Saint-Julien wines. Les Fiefs de Lagrange is an ideal second wine while awaiting the first wine, or “grand vin”. More accessible, it displays all the finesse, elegance and balance of this prestigious terroir – an essential wine!
